FAQs

1. What does “bankable” mean in the context of accredited services we offer, like wind measurements, resource assessments, energy yield assessments, power curve verification and testing, among others?

Bankable” means that measurement data and expert opinion assessments meet the quality, accuracy, traceability, integrity and authenticity standards required by investors, lenders, insurers and technical advisors for project financing.

At ProfEC Ventus, bankability is ensured methodological standards embedded through an ISO / IEC 17025-accredited quality management system (ILAC-MRA congruent), MEASNET procedure, IECRE compliances, and adherence to ISO, IEC and FGW standards. From system design to final reporting, the entire and accredited measurement chain remains uninterrupted, traceably documented, and technically defensible, providing financial stakeholders with confidence in the results.

Accredited system employment guarantees precision within bankable confidence level bandwidths, ensuring traceability, reliability, comparability, independence, integrity, and authenticity, ultimately establishing trust in validated data and assessments.

Accredited measurement systems ensure that every result is traceable to recognised reference standards and produced under independently audited procedures. This guarantees reliability, comparability, and methodological consistency.

Operating under ISO/IEC 17025 (ilac-MRA), ProfEC Ventus ensures that calibration, system configuration, and reporting remain within an uninterrupted accredited framework, which essentially means:

The chain of accredited assessments remains uninterrupted and traceable!

This reduces systematic uncertainty, eliminates the need for repeated validation, and strengthens investor confidence in the data and assessments delivered.

The ISO/IEC 17025 (ILAC-MRA) framework ensures a seamless handover of assessments, results, and expert reports. Hence, ProfEC Ventus can rely on data provided by any other ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory without requiring additional, costly validations repeatedly. Likewise, any other accredited testing laboratory can rely on the validated results and deliverables issued by ProfEC Ventus, without the need for further verification again.

This provides clients with full flexibility in selecting subsequent bankable services throughout their project development process, provided that all contracted parties are authorised to issue assessment reports backed by valid ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) and SoDAR (Sonic Detection and Ranging) are remote sensing devices that measure wind speed, direction, and turbulence intensity at multiple heights using a single ground-based unit.

They are particularly effective in complex terrain, offshore environments, forested areas, or locations where tall mast installations are impractical. When deployed and verified under recognised standards such as IEC 61400-50-2, remote sensing systems provide reliable vertical wind profiling and can support hybrid measurement strategies or resource efficient (time, height, space, costs) campaign extensions. Their bankability depends on device verification and accredited deployment methodology.

Yes. ProfEC Ventus delivers accredited wind measurement campaigns, covering accredited system architecture, logistics, installation, commissioning, maintenance, remote monitoring, data retrieval and hosting, accredited reporting of mast design, site, commissioning and certified prove of data authenticity and integrity.

By assuming single-point technical responsibility across multi-vendor systems, we ensure methodological consistency, controlled configuration management, and transparent documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

We design off-grid and hybrid power solutions to ensure reliable operation and data availability above 99%, even in challenging environments.

Depending on site conditions, systems may include solar PV, fuel cells (methanol or hydrogen), small wind turbines, or hybrid combinations. Power solutions can be stationary or mobileboxed or containerised, and are individually engineered to match the measurement system requirements and climatic conditions.

ProfEC Ventus has delivered projects, expert opinions, and advisory assignments in more than 80 countries across all climate zones, from tropical to deserts to offshore and arctic environments.

Our international experience allows us to operate effectively under diverse regulatory, environmental, and logistical conditions, providing consistent, bankable measurement and assessment services worldwide.

We don’t STOP at borders when transiting our technical trainings and approved expert opinions, because: neither greenhouse gasses nor pollutants know borders!

We are prepared to attend any new area, where our Client demands professional accompany and assistance.

We act as closer responsive partner, offering short decision paths, direct technical communication, and premium customer support. Committed to our clients’ long-term success, we deliver technically rigorous, commercially competitive solutions designed for projects where data must meet the highest technical, financial, and international standards.

Our 24/7 technical support and enhanced remote monitoring abilities ensure efficient problem solving, often before a technician in person would need to reach out to an affected measurement station.

We work independently with any sensor and data logger OEM and brand, tailoring them into a single, integral one-hand system, granting maximal flexibility of choice to our clients.

Our measurement system availability touches 99%, based on highest industry standards, probably the best measurement system built in the global market.
